Alberta Education funding for children ages 3 ½ - 5 ½ years of age with a mild or moderate delay in development. Funding is only available for a maximum of 2
I’m for Kids Team provides screening at our partnering private preschools at the request of individual preschools.
We assist preschool teachers by providing appropriate support to children with developmental delays.
Children identified with a Mild or Moderate Delay will be assigned a Therapy Support Assistant (TSA) trained in both speech/language and motor development.
Each child’s program is overseen by an Educational Program Specialist as well as a Speech Language Pathologist, an Occupational Therapist, a Physiotherapist, or a Psychologist.
Programming occurs within the child’s private preschool and/or in a group session outside of preschool session. A typical week will include a ½ hour of Early Intervention.
There are two IPPs: ongoing goal reviews and revisions.
Children will “graduate” from the Mild/Moderate program when all of the goals are achieved. Often this date of release from the program occurs prior to the end of the school
Our M/M team offers Professional Development training to all of our Preschool Teachers; workshops are available to parents as well as ongoing support.
